About
At one time growing up in a small West Texas town I wanted to be a Chef, not cool at the time. This was way before celebrity chefs were turned into rock stars. While most kids watched cartoons when they stayed home sick, I watched cooking shows. Food has always fascinated me, not just the food but the preparation, the people, the life around food.

I remember the food my grandparents made me not what they bought me. My MeMaw’s Tomato Gravy, PawPaw’s Lentil Soup, Sophie’s experiment of the day and her pop-overs, Nanny’s potato soup, Big Mamaw’s homemade biscuits. I’m afraid we are losing the food treasures of this generation. We are losing it.

Asian food is one of my all-time favorites and my first choice. Indian is becoming a favorite. Spices and heat win out over bland restaurant chain food. New food and the experience is an adventure. Burned in my brain. Waking up to find Moo Shoo Gai Pan in the fridge after my parents weekend date was comparable to presents under the tree.

Life has points of food references for me. These are those points.

Hey, Lee told me about your new website and let me tell you I was impressed! I loved that you added photos and talked thru the recipe step by step. Also adding things about Selina and the kids makes it seem more down home and makes you seem more personable. I was just real impressed! I save all my recipes that Memaws, mom, Sophie, friends, and anyone one else that I enjoyed the dish, so I have me a little notecard holder that I keep all them in so anytime you need some pointers on Mac & Cheese I’m ur girl!! Lol! Really I think it’s awesome and I will be looking out for the next one!
